Here at NJT we want to create personality-traits which are shown to exist in reality. Our method of doing this is to use statistical measure of random participants.
At this point we have quite steady anti-correlations between 13 - 16 dichotomies and steady correlations 7 - 10 pair of traits. However these statistics are not formal because we will need to make more formal experiments once we feel ready for it.
But we believe, what we have now, is significant, because one of the major problems of MBTI and similar theories is that the dichotomies are never proven in isolation. The assumed anti-correlations between poles of the dichotomies are never tested in MBTI, just assumed, and any scientific analysis of MBTI has come up short, claiming that the model is not sound because the dichotomies the model is based on doesn’t exist in the first place.
We have preliminary evidence for that our dichotomies are actual part of reality.
Another part of this theory is creating meaningful personality-traits, so perceived individual differences in personality should be reflected in scores, this has not been shown in MBTI. We think our model captures some of the perceived individual differences, it’s not perfect yet though.
Here is the latest statistics for correlations for hypothesised correlated traits.
