    • These are excerpts from the NeoU E-learning app. Get the app and a more fun way of learning about neuroscience and personality!

      1. Welcome to the first ever app for learning about personality psychology. We offer courses on everything from Carl Jung to neuroscience, highly sensitive people, empathy, and intelligence. We talk about a wide range of personality theories, including our own model, Neojungian Typology, but you can use this app to learn about pretty much anything psychology related.

      2. Neojungian is founded on Carl Jungs theories on personality and psychology. We also apply Myers Briggs theories on Judging and Perceiving. Their theories have then been reworked and matched with traits and concepts researched in neuroscience. We now have the scientific and theoretical base for sixteen personality types. This means our theories on intuition is based on our knowledge on top-down processing, and our theories on judging and perceiving? Well, they're based on genetics and neurobiology.

Drawing on neuroscience, we have found strong support for the existence of:

      Introverts (I) and Extroverts (E)
      iNtuitives (N) and Sensors (S)
      Feelers (F) and Thinkers (T)
      Judgers (J) and Perceivers (P)

      3. Carl Jungs theories on human behavior are still used all over the world. But there are three major criticism to most existing models based on Carl Jung.

      1. Jungian theories lack a strong scientific backing.

Through neuroscience, we have been able to find scientific support for all dimensions Carl Jung believed to exist. We have found four dominant networks that influence Intuition, Sensing, Thinking and Feeling. We have found genes that influence whether you are a Judging type or a Perceiving type. And we have found dopamine d2 receptors, that influence whether you are an introvert or an extrovert.

      2. Jungian personality tests lack statistical validity.

The neojungian personality test has with over 20,000 test-takers confirmed over and over that the dimensions we measure for not only have scientific backing, but can be tested and measured accurately through self-assessments. We believe our tool to be one of the most consistent and accurate personality tests available.

      3. Jungian personality types "box people in."

Neojungian typology redefines personality from "your observed behavior" to who you are when you are in a state of flow. To us, the personality traits we measure are about your basic emotional and instinctual tendencies, how your genes pull and influence your behavior. But this is a soft influence, and as such, we don't believe people fall into sixteen tight-knit boxes.
