[2] Lateral frontopolar cortex (LFPC) are activated in the social domain, provided that the task requires the integration of one’s preferences with those of others. [3] Frontopolar cortex (FPC) are also activated for when a abstract relations are integrated in analogical reasoning. [4]
It is also found to be involved in goal-directed creativity or where creativity consists of combination of different remote information.
* Creative tasks which are about tasks combining remote information into activated more anterior areas activate the DLPFC. [1]
* Creative tasks that is more open-ended like divergent thinking activates the DLPFC less. [1]
