    • The new test is released
    • 02-25-2016
    • The new test is now available, it's called NJTI-4 and it's based on empirical data from self-reporting combined with science on neuropsychology. It's only 43 questions and takes about 5 - 10 minutes to complete. It's free and no sign-up is required.

The questions are validated statistically in Swedish, but we haven't yet tested the questions in english so please invite everyone you know to do the test and we will get as much statistics as possible to analy..

    • A beginning to a new model
    • 12-27-2015
    • Introduction

Formal models of personality are either useless or hard to interpret while informal models tend to be useful and easy to understand.
We make an effort at creating a useful, interpretable personality-model of formal standards. The focus is on distinct personality-categories or "types" based on falsifiable traits.
The whole model is based on what gives energy. We try to create distinct personality-factors. All factors have two anti-correlated tra..

    • What are we up to right now
    • 11-18-2015
    • Have you noticed that the NJTI test hasn't been updated in a while and have you been wondering what we are doing right now?

Currently we have three projects in progress here at NJT:

Creating a NJTI-4 test that is based on four statistically solid factors, three factors are completed. (75% completed) Doing a meta-review of science about MBTI of 223 scientific articles. (50% completed) Creating a NJTI-10 test that is based on ten statistically solid factors, abou..

    • Unconfirmed assumptions in Jungian typology
    • 10-16-2015
    • Discovering what assumptions one makes is critical to be able to verify the validity of a model.
Even though we prefer the MBTI over Big-5 it still suffers from a lack of validity of it’s factors, which Big-5 doesn't.
Why would these traits be bimodally distributed and not continuously distributed and why would there be 16 types instead of something else?

The cognitive function model is lacking even more in evidence supporting the assumed relationships bet..

    • Preliminary proof of concept
    • 09-26-2015
    • Here at NJT we want to create personality-traits which are shown to exist in reality. Our method of doing this is to use statistical measure of random participants.

At this point we have quite steady anti-correlations between 13 - 16 dichotomies and steady correlations 7 - 10 pair of traits. However these statistics are not formal because we will need to make more formal experiments once we feel ready for it.

But we believe, what we have now, is significant, because..
    • Reasons why MBTI is not a sound metric
    • 09-24-2015
    • The MBTI test is one of the most popular personality-tests available and is often used in Human Relations (HR). Even though it is very popular it have never been shown that the dichotomies that MBTI tries to measure, actually exists as dichotomies in reality.

MBTI is a ipsative self-reporting test, meaning it forces people to pick between two alternatives for each question. It have been mathematically shown that ipsative tests can never be statistically verified. I will try to exp..

    • Relationships between Hunters, Gathers, Farmers and Neojungian Typology
    • 08-28-2015
    • According to the anthropological theory of hunters and gatherers, humans were nomadic hunters and gatherers for thousands of years, but then started farming and living settled lives. From a personality-perspective - when people stopped being hunter and gatherers and became farmers other personality-traits became more valuable than before.

A hunter has to be aware of signs of their prey, dangers, and make snap judgements. This is a intense experience, where traits such as impulsivi..

    • Philosophy about the concept of personality
    • 08-13-2015
    • Are there really different types of personalities or are all types distributed on a spectrum with a distinct set of traits?
To be able to answer question that we must understand the philosophy behind types, this article will try to explain how to answer this question.

"The type" indicates a category while "the trait" indicates an attribute. At NJT our types are "fuzzy concepts" that consists of distinct collections of traits, meaning two indivi..

    • How Body Language Influences Personality Type
    • 08-11-2015
    • While visual signals are hard to spot, I am able to predict a persons neojungian type with atleast a very high accuracy, much higher than the accuracy if my results would have come up purely by chance (6% accuracy or lower) The accuracy will increase as our test becomes more efficient at tracking down types, as well as when I become more experienced and skilled in the art of visual typing. This is a new skill: nobody has been able to systemize this before (besides one fringe group with an ineffi..

    • Relationships between A and B personality types and Neojungian Typology
    • 08-11-2015
    • A and B personality types was created in the 1950s by cardiologists Meyer Friedman and Ray Rosenman.
The A personality type was thought to have a double risk of coronary heart diseases compared to other individuals, while the B personality type was defined as not being a A personality type.
The personality theory never became widely used in cardiology and the claim that the types predicts risk for heart disease is disputed, but the distinction between type A and type B has become a..
