In Neojungian Typology, every type has an ideal relationship type. In our new relationships section, we expand on all the relationship types, so feel free to explore them all to see which ones fit you the best. We are able to provide more in-depth information about relationships than other personality models because we have evidence of connections between personality & motivation and emotional stability. Our relationship theory is deeply interrelated with our theory on health, which is going to be expanded alot soon!

    Worldview relationships

The ideal choice is to pursue relationships with people who share similar worldviews as our own. This is because we can only understand the empathic perspective through our own empathic worldview, while we can only understand intellectual perspectives through engaging in the intellectual worldview. Relationships with people who have our auxilary, or tertiary worldviews, have benefits, but are not necessarily successfull long-term, while relationships with people who have our opposing worldview, have an interestingly high success rate.

    Temperament relationships

Ideally, you will want to seek out a relationship with someone who has your opposing temperament. Why? Because while relationships with people who share a similar temperament to your own, have their benefits and fun, there appears to be a problem where both partners get in each others way. One person often finds themselves lost in the others shadow, as both feel a similar behavioral urge, simultaneously. If an Explorer wants to be the first to understand and decode new information, what does the other Explorer do when it's done? The competitive tendency in these relationships can cause both to compete for the spotlight. This is very common in sibling relationships, as type appears to be hereditary. (We have already found plenty of genetic traces to the personality traits we study!)

A relationship with someone who has your opposing temperament, for a Leader, is with an Explorer, and for a Teacher, is with a Fighter. While their methods sometimes don't align, and while they may argue about this, they can work highly complementary, protecting each others from the other's blind spots. An Explorer can test a Leaders resolve and values, as well as help the leader embrace and express their instincts and needs openly. A Teacher can help a Fighter keep their calm, protecting them from danger or rash decisions. But every type has something to offer to the others, so try to take your time to respect everyone's different style!

There's much more to come in these sections - as well as detailed information on all the possible relationship patterns - so stay tuned! :)
